Us Earthlings inhabit a photo voltaic system on one of many nice spiral arms of the Milky Method galaxy.
The legendary Hubble Area Telescope, orbiting Earth, peered inward and captured a vivid picture of stars close to the middle of the Milky Method, a galaxy that is some 100,000 light-years throughout (or about 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 kilometers). NASA posted the picture on-line on Friday.
What can we see? A “glowing starfield,” writes NASA.
That dense group of stars known as a “globular cluster,” and that is particularly “globular cluster ESO 520-21,” discovered close to the middle of the galaxy. A globular cluster is a “densely packed, roughly spherical assortment of stars,” writes the European Area Company.
Poetically, NASA calls them “snow-globe-shaped islands of a number of hundred thousand historical stars.”
