Update: We’re expecting new consoles at Game, AO and Very this week. Read on for more information.
The PS5 console launched more than six months ago, but ongoing supply problems mean it’s difficult to actually get your hands on Sony’s new console.
Restock issues have plagued the console since launch day, and despite stores reopening in the UK, it’s still almost impossible to secure a console in-store (and not easy online either).
But the restock landscape seems to be improving, with huge drops appearing from every single major retailer throughout May. Sadly, that wasn’t the case in June, with the only bright spots being from Game and Very. This month, we’ve had an Argos drop, with plenty more to come soon.
So if you’re still searching for the console, we’re here to help you get your hands on the coveted Playstation by keeping an eye on all major retailers, as well as offering the latest insight on any rumoured releases.

You need to do this to get a PS5 from AO
The PS5 is currently in stock at AO.com, but you have to tinker with the site’s code to get it into your basket.
In Chrome, copy one of these product codes. For the standalone PS5 console copy “p5hehwsny39500” and for the Ratchet & Clank bundle copy “p5hehwcst60128”.
Right click on the green “add to basket” button and select “inspect element”, then in the window that pops up on the side of your screen replace the speaker’s product code with the PS5 product code you’ve just copied. It’s the series of numbers and letters that immediately follows “data-productcode=”.
Hit enter and then press the “add to basket” button to pop the PS5 in your trolley.

- Copy the PS5’s product ID and save it somewhere safe.
- Navigate to a random item on AO’s website.
- Right-click on the ‘Buy now’ button on the random item and click ‘Inspect Element’. In the element inspector, replace the product’s ID with the PS5’s product ID.

Your local Game could have the PS5 in stock
We’re constantly scanning every online retailer in the UK to spot new PS5 stock as it arrives, but if reports on Twitter are to be believed you might have some luck popping into your local brick and mortar shop, like it’s 1996 or something.
A few customers of Game and Smyths say they’ve managed to bag a PS5 on the high street, sometimes without being on a pre-order list. In particular, we have confirmation that Game has been receiving increased numbers of in-store PS5 stock.
How successful this tactic will be depends on where you live, but if you’re passing by your local videogames emporium it can’t hurt to wander in and make some enquiries.

Here’s when ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ is coming to PS5
While we wait for a PS5 restock – we can feel it in our bones, it’s happening – let’s take a moment to imagine some of our favourite PS4 games looking all lovely and spruced up on Sony’s next-gen console.
Publisher Sony and developer Sucker Punch have held hands and jointly announced that they’re expecting an enhanced director’s cut edition of their hit open-world samurai game Ghost of Tsushima to arrive on 20 August for both the PS4 and PS5.
The upgraded version of the game will include all of the content from the original game as well as a new island to explore. Sucker Punch says we can expect new story content, characters, environments, armour, enemies, and more. Here, it shows up in our list of the best PS4 games.
The best Playstation 4 games to play now
From the ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ to ‘The Last Of Us’, we’ve found the best PS4 games of 2021 to play now, available from Argos, Currys, Playstation Store and more

About that Currys PS5 lottery
Back in May Currys PC World devised a lottery system to dish out PS5 consoles in a fair way. The PS5 VIP priority pass is now closed to new entrants, but the store is continuing to offer PS5s to customers who managed to get hold of a code.
If selected, you had 72 hours to buy the console using a unique code, with redeemers receiving a call a few weeks later. While the lottery has been closed since the start of June, those who signed up are still being sent codes every couple of weeks, so keep an eye on your inbox and you could be next.
We expect this might impact the availability of online stock for as long as there are still priority pass orders to send out.

When is The Witcher 3 upgrade coming to PS5?
Released in 2015, The Witcher 3 sits somewhere near the top of everyone’s list of games they’d like to see upgraded for next-gen consoles, but what’s the release date of the PS5 version of CD Projekt Red’s dark fantasy RPG?
According to Radek Grabowski, lead PR manager at the studio, an upgraded version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be released on PS5 in the second half of this year. A EuroJournal report suggested that CD Projekt Red might even be collaborating on the next-gen version with modders who’ve designed higher-resolution textures and other graphics improvements for the PC version of the game.
The developer is also hard at work patching and upgrading Cyberpunk 2077 for next-generation consoles, so maybe give them a bit of breathing room on this one.

When is the Game PS5 restock happening?
Along with Very and AO, Game is the last of the big three retailers we suspect might have the PS5 in stock today.
Game is one of the few retailers that have started selling consoles in-store from June. The last time the retailer had an in-store restock was on 21 June. The retailer now runs a pre-order waiting list system. If you pop into your local Game, you can ask to be put on the list and you’ll get a call if you’ve been allocated a PS5.
According to @PS5StockAlertUK, it’s because some retailers have a new stock system. Game will reportedly have 23 spots per store per month for people to go in and register their name for a PS5 console. Once stock is available in that store, you’ll get a call. The wait time is long, however, so if you don’t have the patience, you’ll have to continue the hunt online. As usual, we’ll let you know if anything changes.

When will AO have the PS5 back in stock?
AO is one of the three retailers we’re predicting will have the PS5 in stock this morning. Let’s take a closer look at the site’s restock record.
The last time AO had a PS5 restock was on 17 June, almost three weeks ago now. Usually the online store sells the PS5 console as part of a bundle, which makes it a little more expensive, but makes stock last that little bit longer.
This prediction has been made based on previous timings of stock drops, so don’t chuck your PS4 in a skip just yet. AO usually restocks its cache of PS5s between 9am and 11am, so keep your eyes locked on the AO site as well as our liveblog to catch the consoles as they arrive.

When will Very have the PS5 in stock?
Very is the dark horse of PS5 retailers. The store went for months without a single PS5 drop, but more recently it’s been popping up with enormous chunky restocks that stick around a lot longer than on sites like Amazon and Game.
The last Very PS5 restock happened on Tuesday 22 June, and the console was in stock for a mammoth four hours. The drop before that lasted a similar length of time, too. There’s no rumoured date for the next Very drop, but when it does land, it will most likely take place in the morning between 9am and 11am.
