Celtic could face competition in their pursuit of Aaron Hickey, as it’s reported Fiorentina are also interested in the left-back.
The Scotland youth international left Hearts last summer to sign for Bologna, inking a deal until 2024.
Hickey grew up supporting Celtic and spent some time in their youth system, with rumours swirling that he could return to Parkhead this summer.
However, according to La Nazione there could be competition in the shape of Bologna’s Serie A rivals Fiorentina.
After Leonardo Spinazzola snapped his achilles playing for Italy at Euro 2020, Roma are in need of another option on the left.
Near the top of their list is Cristiano Biraghi of Fiorentina, and if he moves to the capital then the Viola could make a €2.5million (£2.1m) move for Hickey.
However, La Nazione insists that Bologna have no intention of selling Hickey, who is just 19 and viewed as an exciting prospect for the future.
Indeed, it may be more likely that they sell another of their left-backs and once again Roma are key.
Il Resto di Carlino believes that Mitchell Dijks is also on Jose Mourinho’s list, and a far more likely candidate to be sold.
Hickey made 11 Serie A appearances in his debut season before his campaign was cut short by a shoulder injury.
