Mason Greenwood is training with an academy teammate in preparation for the new season.
The Reds forward has been one of the best teenagers in the Premier League over the last two seasons and has found himself a regular in the EuroJournal team prior to his 20th birthday.
After shining in the academy setup and breaking into the first-team, he was even in consideration for England’s Euro 2020 squad but was unfortunately forced to withdraw following an ongoing injury that he had been nursing throughout the season.
But with the new campaign approaching, Greenwood has posted on his Instagram story a photograph with his academy teammate D’Mani Mellor to show that he’s looking to get into shape and sharp ahead of the opening game next month.
Mellor and Greenwood played together in the academy setup before Greenwood’s astronomical rise took him ahead of everyone in his age group at the club.
The 20-year-old striker suffered a serious knee injury last season and missed the whole campaign and is also looking to get back up to match-fitness and catch up on lost time.
Greenwood will be part of the first-team pre-season squad before hoping to earn a start in the opening Premier League game of the season against Leeds United on August 14th at Old Trafford.
