A HOLIDAY operator has cancelled all of its flights and holidays to amber list destinations – with Newcastle holidaymakers affected.
Jet2 and Jet2Holidays has told customers that flights and holidays to affected destinations will be cancelled up to and including July 18.
In a statement, it said that it was expecting a review of the traffic light status on or around July 15 and had cancelled the flights as a result.
Currently, those travelling to amber list countries must self-isolate for ten days upon their return and pay for two Covid tests.
Jet2 said: “In line with the UK Government’s timeline, we are expecting the next review of the Traffic Light status of overseas destinations to be on or around 15th July.
“As a result of that, we have taken the decision to cancel flights and holidays to all Amber List destinations up to and including 18th July 2021.”
Jet2 said that customers affected by any changes will see their bookings automatically cancelled with a full refund.
It said customers should refrain from contacting customer services as the operator will be in touch to help them rebook if they wish.
Their statement said: “We will continue to review our programme in line with updates from the UK Government.”
Jet2 said the latest announcement does not impact green list countries, while it reiterated that red list destinations will not be served until July 21 at the earliest.
